New York Times Bestselling author, Roland Smith, is the author of more than 50 books for young people. Prior to becoming a fulltime writer, he spent over twenty years working with wildlife all over the world. In this capacity, he was a zookeeper, zoo curator, assistant zoo director, and research biologist. He was instrumental in reintroducing the red wolf back into the wild, and a consultant on the Yellowstone National Park gray wolf translocation. He has written over 50 books. Among his books are the I,Q series, Peak, Beneath, Above Zach’s Lie, The Cryptid Hunters series, the Storm Runners series, Elephant Run, The Switch, Beneath, Above, The Wildes series, and They Are Here! He and his wife, Marie, live Bentonville. A bit of The Vaquita (The Wildes series) was written at Bentonville Public Library.
